Hiking

Trip to Luční bouda

  • Trail length: 8.8 km
  • Duration: 2 hrs 40 mins (without stops)
  • Elevation gain: 196 m

The trail to Luční bouda and back is one of the easier ones. Thanks to the relatively low elevation gain, you can manage it as a half-day trip on your bike or as a hike with small children. Set out along the red marker past Výrovka. You’ll pass several lookout points and interesting monuments. You’ll reach Luční bouda, from where you have a magnificent view of our highest peak - Sněžka. You can taste Luční bouda’s own beer, which uses the water from the Bílé Labe (White Water) spring in the brewing process.

Trip to Sněžka

  • Trail length: 15.8 km
  • Duration: 5 hrs 40 mins (without stops)
  • Elevation gain: 497 m

The trip to Sněžka starts the same way as trip no. 1 to Luční bouda. From there it’s only a stone’s throw. With the increasing elevation, you’ll pass into the Krkonoše tundra. Walk over Dívčí lávka and Obří sedlo, wave to our neighbours and head out along the newly renovated Czech-Polish trail to our highest peak. And that’s where you’ll be amazed at how crafty Mother Nature really is.

Tracking the fox along the “liščí stopa” (circuit)

  • Trail length: 9.3 km
  • Duration: 3 hrs 20 mins (without stops)
  • Elevation gain: 302 m

You’ll really enjoy this trail – it’s all about the fox. Following the red marking along Liščí hřeben and over Liščí hora will bring you to Liščí louka. Just a bit off course is the Hnědý vrch lookout tower. After coming down from the lookout and back to Liščí louka, head out along the yellow trail until you reach the Černý potok crossroads, where you follow the Liščí cesta. From there, set out along the green trail along Zlaté návrší. You’ll pass under the Rennerovky cabins and return to Dvorská bouda. Beautiful panoramic views of the local range will open up to you along the way, you’ll also see Pec pod Sněžkou o Černý důl. By the way, Liščí hora is the wintering ground of the iconic black grouse.

Biking

Prepare well for your cycling trips. Study the trails planned for your trip and it’s best to take a map along just in case because there are plenty of intersections and biking crossroads waiting for you. Taking the wrong turn could mean several additional and unpleasant kilometres and a great dose of energy required to get back on track.

Cycling trail no. 1 – Along the mountain road to Tetřeví bouda

  • Trail length: 28.5 km
  • Duration: 2 hrs 30 mins (without stops)
  • Elevation gain: 744 m

Just under the Přední Rennerovky, turn onto the red cycling trail (K1A from Dvorská bouda to the Strážné guidepost) and follow it for your entire trip right up to Tetřeví bouda (K1B from the guidepost in Strážné all the way to Tetřeví bouda). There, hop on the Liščí cesta, which will take you along the blue route (K18) back under the Přední Rennerovky, where you close your circuit and set out on the final ascent to Dvorská bouda.

Cycling trail no. 2 – Along the mountain road past Tetřeví bouda to Pec pod Sněžkou

  • Trail length: 32.6 km
  • Duration: 3 hrs (without stops)
  • Elevation gain: 1 029 m

On this trip, follow cycling trail 1 all the way to Tetřeví bouda, where you continue along the red cycling trail (K1B) to Lučiny. Once there, turn toward the mountain town of Pec pod Sněžkou. After some refreshments and looking around, find the red cycling trail (K1A) at the Veselý information centre. Set out toward Výrovka and then our Dvorská bouda. The trail from Pec is practically an alpine stage, so make sure to fuel up and pedal really hard.

Cycling trail no. 3 – Down to Strážné and Špindlerův Mlýn

  • Trail length: 64.2 km
  • Duration: 5 hrs 53 mins (without stops)
  • Elevation gain: 2 060 m

There is an endless number of cycling trails around Špindlerův Mlýn. Ride down to Strážné, set out toward the right to Špindl and take a nice ride through the whole town. Our trip leads just under Hromovka, to Dívčí lávka, around the reservoir and back to the hill. You’re going to need the whole day for this trip, and make sure your legs are well rested.
